Open Call for Journalists: RUTA Conference 2026

March 6, 2026

12–15 July 2026 | Carpathian Mountains, Ukraine

The RUTA Association invites journalists and media professionals to attend and report on the RUTA Conference 2026, taking place 12–15 July 2026 in the Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine.

Under the theme “Rooted knowledges and dialogues for change,” this year’s conference explores how knowledge production shifts when it is grounded in lived experience and community, and how such rooted and embodied knowledges can contribute to justice, environmental protection, resistance to authoritarianism, and transformative social change.

The conference will convene scholars, artists, activists and community leaders working across issues including decolonial knowledge-making, ecocide and environmental protection, antifascism, migration and labour justice, transitional justice, Indigenous approaches to lifeways, politically engaged research, and countering disinformation.
